HIST 518 History of the American West
Survey of the history of the U.S. West, a region of Native North America that has been the object of Spanish, French, English, and American expansionism, and finally a distinct region with a unique relationship to the U.S. federal government. Explores the U.S. West as both a shifting geographic region, and as a frontier process involving migration, political and social expansion, and cultural change. Not open to students who have credit in HIST 318.
