Minor in Family Engagement

Understand the family context and how it affects children and families as they develop and flourish. Our Minor in Family Engagement is ideal for you if you want to provide services to family members or families as a whole. This minor compliments those in social work, psychology, education, and more. Students can make this an all online minor by strategically selecting courses and course sections offered online throughout the calendar year.

This minor is not open to Family and Child: Family Science majors. This minor is open to majors in Family and Child: Early Childhood Education and Family and Child: Early Care as long as the students choose 9 credits from the following electives: ECYF 285, ECYF 340, ECYF 360, ECYF 375, ECYF 485. This Minor is open to majors in Family and Child with concentrations in Child Life and Early Intervention if students choose 9 credits from the following electives: ECYF 285, ECYF 340, ECYF 360, ECYF 375, ECYF 442. Students in this minor are exempt from taking ECYF 100.
