Minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
A minor in TESOL emphasizes the understanding of the fundamentals of linguistic sciences, the theory and research of TESOL, and methods and materials in TESOL. In addition to six credit hours of core coursework, you will select nine credit hours from a series of TESOL- and linguistic-related electives.

Four semesters or the equivalent in one or more modern or classical languages other than one’s native language are recommended. ENG 436 is counted towards the English BA with Applied Linguistics concentration as well. Electives courses chosen for this minor must be different from the courses chosen for the English BA with Applied Linguistics Concentration.
