HSC 310 Healthcare Systems

Provides students with an overview of the U.S. healthcare system, its components and the policy challenges created by its organization. Describes the structure and function of the various private and public health care entities within the U.S. Strengths and weaknesses related to cost, quality and access are also analyzed. Basic economic theories that drive financing will also be considered. Prerequisite: HSC 180 and 200; junior status.
